I recently read a review about identifying specific behaviour change strategies to improve swallowing function after head & neck cancer treatment. For those new here I am not an SLP (speech language pathologist) or medical practitioner, I am an ex (or ongoing) head and neck cancer patient with an iron will not to have a PEG tube feeder for life and a passionate foodie, traveller & hiker. The review highlighted the high prevalence of dysphagia after HNC treatment, with the goal of optimising post treatment swallowing function.

Here’s what I know.

Swallowing exercises, what a concept - first of all I had no idea about swallow issues before head and neck cancer treatment.
