What do you do when you have dysphagia and you want to travel? I did it once and thankfully COVID lockdown happened and I never had to travel with a PEG tube feeder again. I now travel regularly with dysphagia both nationally and internationally.
But I did travel on a plane once with my PEG tube and a whole lot of apprehension, plane travel and dysphagia are quite difficult to manage unless you are very organised and prepared. So when Diane from the UK reached out and asked me how to feed her husband for 6 weeks with his commercial formula that isn’t available in Australia, what should they do, can they order a similar product whilst in Australia? Here’s what I suggested.
There are two issues here, travelling with a PEG tube feeder and travelling with dysphagia, both in my experience present two quite different ways of packing and travelling.
