Why do we have a fascination on how others go about their daily life?
Perhaps because post HNC treatment we all wonder if there might be a a better way to do things, achieve things and improve our own personal circumstances. Given my single white female status, perhaps, just maybe, my daily life is a little different from most.
GRIT.
I have always been a very early riser, I just can’t stay in bed in the mornings, the older I get the earlier I rise. There is something magical about getting up when it’s dark, quiet and the air is crisp, clean and the day is unsullied. Normally here in Australia the first crack of day break starts Magpies warbling (although they are known to do this in the middle of the night too) but generally when you hear them, the sun is on its way.
The warble of an Australian magpie is one of those sounds that immediately grounds me as being home You an listen to one here be warned if you are an ex pat Aussie I find this a bit triggering!
Most morning’s, Rocket one of my black Bombay’s ensures I am awake by sitting on my head with wet paws that have been playing in the outdoor fish pond most of the evening. The other black Bombay (Squiddles) is generally sleeping on me, all 10kgs of him. They know the minute I am about to wake, action stations around the two silver feed bowls. Note: they never get fed in the morning - ever! it’s some sort of pact they have between themselves about wearing me down. It’s never worked.
GAIN.
First thing I do is drink a large glass of purified water (250mls at least). Those amongst us who suffer xerostomia from radiation will be all too familiar with this,
