Thank you! My FIL who recently moved in with us is buying the family food gifts… it’s kinda hilarious - but underneath it’s painful. Sadly this builds for me then I have “a moment”.

And yes… runny and smooth DOES NOT WORK!! Funnily this is on the IDDSI list of the first things you should try. Oh - and peanut butter - on the list of acceptable! I quickly threw it out.

Your posts are a welcome reminder I am not alone. ☮️❤️

I still like the concept of IDDSI - I am on the Australian Reference Group - we are yet to have a second meeting - note to self for 2025. Thanks Marta I always enjoy your responses ! Christmas greetings from hot Australia x

I so hear you. I used to get cross when 'people who should know this about me' did not...eating is small and rarely away from family or house...and yet, a wonderful invitation to attend a dinner to honour MY HNC surgeon ...and I couldn't sit there and not eat.

I actually don't think I get cross any more so I just make my way of eating work for me.

Sigh.

That sounds like an awful state to find your house in. I am sorry.

Denyse x

I was listening to an amazing podcast on 'consciousness' this morning and working out how it relates to our eating situation ... I am pondering this as Christmas day looms closer x

I want to make everyone i know read this! Including my cardiologist who suggested i eat more pickles and chips(crisps) to increase my salt intake. This time of year is such a struggle for me now, without all of the non helpful food suggestions. Thank you for putting my feelings into decidedly nicer words than I often want to use with specific people, especially a certain SIL.🤷‍♀️

Happy (as can be) Holidays!

Audra I notice I load my food with coarse salt these days, never use to and I crave vinegar etc… I do eat these items but I have to ease into it and keep at it so my mouth numbs but if it makes me cough then I’m in trouble.
